More videos, info and photos about Gambia: http://www.jokisaari.net/gambia/. Tendaba Camp is located about 150 kilometres away from the coast up the river Gambia and Tendaba word means a wild boad. We went to riversafari of a Bao Bolong wetlandreserve by boat. There's a forest of mangroves over the swamp areas with hundreds species of birds, crocodiles, lisards, monkeys and so on.. We had a visit to the local village, where we were introduced to the basic house and living, and then we got around a huge tree and did some music and dancing together.... join the trip!

An extended family - just the boys and men though - is digging out the earth to make mud bricks, which are then left to bake hard in the sun. They will then build their new house or extension, and use corrugated iron as a roof to keep the bricks from returning to mud again when the rainy season starts in 2 months time.

Gambia is being chosen more often as a holiday destination due to its great weather and fantastic nature. This film is portraying what we did while visiting the Gambia for the first time. We where there for only a week but during that time we've managed to visit some cool places but more importantly meet a bunch of beautiful people.

The smiling coast, Gambia, is the smallest country in Africa. The country has much more than sun and sand to offer. A trip to Gambia is a real adventure and helps you exploring new cultures. We tried our new drone on a very first day trip of 2017. We went to Eastbourne in the south of England. I always bang on about how much I loved my solo trip to The Gambia, so I thought I'd gather some of the footage I took and edit it into a little video to share some of my experiences. Gambia Travel Video - Its easy to miss The Gambia on a map of mighty Africa. This tiny sliver of land is a mere 500km long and 50km wide, and, with the exception of an 80km shoreline, its entirely enveloped by Senegal. But beach-bound Travelists have long known how to trace this oddly shaped country on the map. Its magnificent coast invites visitors to laze and linger, tempting with luxurious beach resorts and bustling fishing villages. But theres more to Africas smallest country than sun and surf. Stunning nature reserves, such as Kiang West National Park and River Gambia National Park (also known as Baboon Island), and the historical slaving stations of St James Island and Jufureh offer peaceful pauses from the clamour of the nearby coast. And The Gambias vibrant culture is always there ...
Discovering the best of The Gambia on my short trip to the country in December - and finding there's far more than winter sun, with history, culture and everyday life to see in mainland Africa's smallest country. On my holiday with The Gambia Experience, I watched Gambian wrestling, traced the history of the slave trade, spotted crocodiles and kayaked through mangroves. My trip was courtesy of The Gambia Experience - all opinions, and decision to make this video are my own. The Animal Market in Abuko has many animals inside. Goats, sheeps and cows. The people who sell the animals, are in the center of the area. They are sitting in a tent, where they do there business and also can sit in the shadow. There are lots of children around, and when they saw us, they all come to us. We put them in line for the gifts we brought. A big 'thank you' was there gift to us! http://www.mjsafari.com/

Find a written account of this video with photos at: http://colinjwingfield.blogspot.com/2016/06/visit-to-west-africa-january-2016.html In this film I have tried to capture some aspects of West African life that my wife and I encountered on a trip in January of 2016 to the Gambia and the Casamance province of Senegal. We spent a week in a Western-style seaside hotel in Greater Banjul to gently break us into West African life before setting off for a guesthouse in the bush near Abéné in Senegal, where life is rather more basic. In the Gambia we were fortunate enough to see in the very grounds of our hotel several specimens of birdlife that we'd never seen before, lizards different to the ones we know in France and even a troop of monkeys! The highlight was possibly an impromptu fish market...
